The Lepșa Monastery - originally a small hermitage of monks - was founded in 1789, as a foundation of the local monks. It has three functional places of worship: the wooden church "Nastrea Maicii Domnului" (historical monument) and the "Holy Trinity" chapel, built in 1993, at the initiative of Archbishop Epifanie.
Between 2008 and 2011, at the Lepșa Monastery, a new monumental wall church was built, dedicated to "The Source of Healing" and "Saints Archangels Michael and Gabriel".
