The Tișiței Gorges, located in Vrancea County, are the largest protected area in the Putna-Vrancea Natural Park, with 2726 ha and Natural Reserve status since 1973. The main route, marked with a red triangle, starts from "Gura Tișiței" at 580 m altitude and stretches for 7 km to the "Great Tunnel", the round trip taking 5-6 hours. The route follows an old forest road and the former railway, being the main tourist attraction.

Access is from National Road 2D and the route is well maintained, although footpaths can be affected by flooding. It is recommended to travel only on the marked path and use the appropriate equipment, such as grippy shoes and protective helmets.

Two main landmarks are "La Pândar", a forestry observatory, and "Tunelul Mare", originally used for logging. After the tunnel, the route continues along the valley of Tișiței Mari (Aurie) to Stâna Cristianul, from where there are two route options: uphill towards Gurguiata-Golul Roibului-Vf. Cristianul or following the valley of Tișiței Mari to the Tișiței Saddle.

The protected area is home to a diversity of flora and fauna, including protected species of large carnivores and amphibians. Beech and mixed forests are habitats for black goat, otter and brown bear. Notable floral species include cornflower, mountain rose, and lady's slipper.
